Child Care

We are prepared for 40 - 45 children in our child care rooms for the St. Valentine’s Dinner & Dance. There will be 4 Safe-Environment cleared adults and up to 10 teen volunteers providing the child care for this event and extra Safe-Environment cleared adults present during check-in.

Cost is $10 per child but no more than $30 per family. You must register your children in advance in one of two ways:

Child care will open at the same time as the event: 7:00PM. Please bring your child(ren) to the St. Valentine's Dinner & Dance entrance (Education Wing). We have closed off classroom 1, 2, 3 & 4 to create a secure environment away from the dance atmosphere. Depending on the number of registered children, we will have either 2 or 3 rooms available for the children based on approximately 15 children per room.

You will be given a pager so we can contact you during this event. This pager number will be identified on your child(ren’s) name tag as a way of collecting children at the end of the evening. Childcare closes at 11:30PM. Please return to the nursery at around 11:00PM to pick up your children.

Snacks will be provided about once an hour during this event. Please identify any allergies when checking in. These allergies will be added to your child’s nametag. Parents should provide sippy cups for children who need them.

Please make sure there are diapers, wipes, an extra change of clothes in a zip-lock bag in your labeled Diaper bag. Special instructions should be given at check-in (ie. if your child is still potty training and needs a little more attention in this area, please let us know).

EVERYTHING SHOULD BE LABELED.

There will be craft tables in each of the child care rooms. Each table will have a different craft.

Movie time will be at 9:30PM. There will be a movie for children under 5 and a separate movie for children over 5. Please make sure you approve of our choices when checking in. Most likely the movies will be Toy Story 2 in the "under 5" room and Evan Almighty or Night at the Museum in the "over 5" room. Bring a blanket/pillow or something for your child to rest on for the movie. Our hope is for all the children to be resting quietly when you pick them up (okay parents…stop laughing…we know this may not happen, but it’s a great goal). Older kids are welcome to bring game boys, books, small quiet toys to play with if they don’t want to watch the movie.

EVERYTHING SHOULD BE LABELED.

I hope you enjoy your evening and your experience with our childcare. For further questions please call Michael Kells-Murphy at 214-223-6594.
